Nigeria Weekly Telecom/ICT Titbits - 27th March - 03rd April, 2021

This week, Mobitsworld TV reviewed the Week Telecom/ICT Titbits in videos. Between 27th March - 03rd April, 2021, the following were reviewed in Mobitsworld Weekly Telecom/ICT Titbits.

1. A Federal High Court in Lagos State has barred the Federal Government from blocking SIM cards not linked to National Identity Numbers next month.

2. According to latest statistics obtained from NCC, none of the Telcos gained additional subscribers in the month of February. 

3. Federal government has extended the deadline for the linkage of the NIN to SIM cards of mobile phone owners from April, 6 to May 6.

4. A Federal High Court in Lagos State has barred the Federal Government  from blocking SIM cards not linked  to National Identity Numbers.  This will make the existing ban on registration of new SIM to stay in  place for a while longer.

5. Federal government has directed GOtv and Startimes to migrate their signals from  self-carrying to any of the two licensed FreeTv signal distributors – Integrated Television Services (ITS) and Pinnacle Communications.
