Senate confirms Waziri as EFCC chairman

The Senate on Thursday at its plenary session confirmed the appointment of Mrs. Farida Waziri as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The Senate President, David Mark made the formal announcement of the decision. The appointments of other members of the EFCC board were also ratified before it adjourned sitting. The pre-hearing acrimony that took place before her eventual appearance before the Senate Committee on Drugs, Narcotics, Anti-corruption and Financial Crimes, which is responsible for clearing her nomination proved to be a storm in teacup after all, as her screening was successful. Reports say Waziri answered all questions put to her and impressed the panel, leaving the Senate with no choice than to ratify her appointment. She was said to have impressed members of the panel with her knowledge of the justice system and her straightforward answers to questions put to her.

I AM GLAD TO SEE A CHANGE AS THE EFCC CHAIRMAN, AS THE LAST ONE SCAMMED ME HIMSELF, AND TAKE MONEY FROM ME, PROMISING TO SEE IT GET MY FUNDS. I NOW HAVE SERVAL OTHERS, ONE PROCLAIMING TO AN OFFICIAL WITH THE ZENITH BANK THAT TAKEN MONEY FROM ME AND NOW NOT ONCE AGAIN DOING WHAT HE HAS PROMISED. HOW CAN I REPORT HIM AND OTHERS SO AS TO BE BROUGHT TO BOOK???? E-mail:
